The fresh tastes of summer are oozing from your veg shares, as we are joined by a succession of succulent summer favourites; we are waving goodbye to the broad beans and mange tout peas, and celebrating the start of the cucumbers, basil, tomatoes, chillis…

For the organised chefs; I am posting regular information about what is in the veg shares on Facebook, so please take a look there if you would like to know what to expect.

The gardens are looking fantastic in places, a bit weedy in others, but we are expecting bumper harvests. As we are still not up to our planned number of shares, we do have some surplus veg available that we are planning to wholesale or otherwise find homes for, so if you are entertaining, please get in touch and share some Plotgate veg with others.

Where to find us over the summer…

Every Friday The Barton Inn Skittle Alley, Barton St David. 4-7pm
Our regular veg hub for box collections and sale of extra veggies.  Everyone is welcome to come and browse.

Tolpuddle Festival  14th-16th July, Tolpuddle, Dorset.
Plotgate crew will be managing the crew kitchen and making pizzas in the children’s area- come and find us if you are there!

Glastonbury Farmer’s Market Saturday 22nd July, Glastonbury Market Cross
A new venture for Plotgate CSA- the farmers’ market is once a month (4th Saturday) throughout the year.

Soil to Sky Wildlife Day Saturday June 29th, at Plotgate CSA.
Join us for a day of wildlife watching, and biodiversity monitoring, including worm counts, butterfly surveying, flora survey and a night time bat walk.  More details to follow.

Our weekly butterfly survey has been phenomenal recently with record numbers and new species recorded- a brilliant indicator of ecological health
